TEXAS – Una vez más la excelencia periodística de NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXAS y Telemundo 39 / KXTX se refleja con el reconocimiento de 36 premios Emmy.
Los mismos fueron otorgados por el Lone Star Chapter, el cual pertenece a la Academia Nacional de Artes y Ciencias de la Televisión.
La premiación se realizó durante la gala número 15, el sábado 11 de noviembre en la ciudad de San Antonio, Texas.
Tanto NBC 5 como Telemundo 39 fueron reconocidos en la categoría de “Servicio comunitario” por su participación en Desocupar los Albergues, la cual es una campaña anual de adopción que ha permitido que más de 23,500 mascotas al norte de Texas sean parte de una familia desde el 2014, año en el que se comenzó la iniciativa local.
Desde que se expandió la campaña a nivel nacional en el 2015, también más de 150,000 animales han encontrado un hogar en diversas ciudades.
Adicionalmente, NBC 5 recibió 19 premios Emmy en una variedad de categorías que incluye “Noticiero matutino” y “Fin de semana”, así como en la categoría de “Reportaje investigativo”, titulado en inglés: “Big Buses, Bigger Problems: The Land Deal”. La estación también fue reconocida doblemente en la categoría de “News Promo – Single Spot” por las producciones bajo el nombre de “State of Mind” y “Texas Storm Fleet”.
“Nuestros profesionales trabajan arduamente para presentar las noticias que tienen un gran impacto y con las que también la comunidad al Norte de Texas se identifica diariamente”, dijo Tom Ehlmann, presidente y gerente general de NBC 5. “Es un honor ser reconocido año tras año por colegas en Texas gracias a la labor periodística que realizan nuestros equipos cada día”.
Tras ser reconocido en la categoría de “Servicio Comunitario”, Telemundo 39 adicionalmente recibió 16 premios Emmy en varias ramas, incluyendo por tercera vez consecutiva el de “Excelencia Periodística”.

El Lone Star Chapter también galardonó a la estación por sus segmentos del tiempo y deportes. Entre ellos se incluye la categoría de “News Weathercast” por las actualizaciones del tiempo presentadas por la meteoróloga Milmar Ramirez. De igual manera se recibieron tres premios en las categorías de “Sportscast”, “Sports Reporter” y “One-Time Special”.
“Estoy muy orgulloso del trabajo que realiza nuestro equipo en la sala de redacción. Ellos trabajan incansablemente para informar a nuestra comunidad, por lo cual merecen el reconocimiento que recibieron”, dijo John Treviño, presidente y gerente general de Telemundo 39. “Nosotros producimos nuestras historias basado en los estándares periodísticos de mayor calidad, por lo cual recibir un Emmy por tercera vez consecutiva en la categoría de “Excelencia Periodística” demuestra que la dedicación de nuestro equipo se refleja en dichos estándares”.
Ambas estaciones también recibieron premios en las categorías de “Noticias de último minuto”. NBC 5 por la historia “Tragedy in Dallas: The July 7th Ambush” y Telemundo 39 por su cobertura en “Balacera En North Lake”.
